Must see places in Vienna

It is time to take another virtual trip using images from Norc street-view panoramas. We are now visiting some of Vienna's most beautiful places. Feel free to explore the surroundings, using the arrows in the panorama and mouse to move around.


     Schönbrunn Palace
Baroque palace surrounded by a beautiful park which includes the world's oldest operating zoo. Inside the palace lies the Mirror Room, site of six-year-old Mozart's first concert before Empress Maria Theresa.



     Kunsthistorisches Museum
Art museum which exhibits not only one of the finest collections of art, but also many priceless objects created for the Habsburg emperors. Works are signed by artists such as Titian, Rubens, van Dyck, Rembrandt, Bruegel and Velázquez.



     Stephansdom and the old city
The most important religious building in Austria's capital. It witnessed many important events in the country's history and is one of the city's most recognizable symbols. Make sure you do not miss the catacombs underneath the St. Stephens church.



     Vienna Opera
For many decades, the opera house has been the venue of the Vienna Opera Ball. Those in attendance often include visitors from around the world, especially prominent names in business and politics.



     Schloss Belvedere
The Belvedere was built in the 17th century, after commander-in-chief Prince Eugene of Savoy's successful conclusion of a series of wars against the Ottoman Empire.



       Liechtenstein museum
It houses one of the world's largest and most important private collections, including the Badminton Cabinet, the most valuable piece of furniture in the world.



     Hofburg Imperial Palace.
It houses the Sisi Museum, which displays personal items of Empress Elisabeth "Sisi" Habsburg, as well as the death mask created after her 1898 assassination in Geneva.



     Prater
The Wiener Prater is a large public park in Vienna. The amusement park stands in one corner of the Wiener Prater and includes the Wiener Riesenrad, a Ferris wheel which is now one of Vienna's most popular tourist attractions.



     Burgring
This boulevard circles Vienna's historic center and is the city's poshest address. The wide, tree-lined street is lined with extravagant hotels, museums, and sites such as the Opera House, the Volksgarten, and the Burgtheater.
